A phrase often used when someone you’re talking about comes along is: Talk of the devil! or Speak of the devil!


Riding for a fall = behaving in a way that is certain to lead to trouble

Amy’s been spending so much money lately, and putting everything on her credit card. If you ask me, she’s really riding for a fall.

Reference to riding a horse: if you’re not careful, you’ll fall off.
