Big Ben

Big Ben, the clock tower at the northern end of the Palace of Westminster in London, is one of the most prominent symbols of both London and England. Building was completed in 1858 and Big Ben had its 150th anniversary on 31 May 2009. It is the largest four-faced chiming clock and the third-tallest free-standing clock tower in the world. Big Ben’s great bell gets itsnickname from the British civil engineer and politician Benjamin Hall. The Clock Tower was renamed the Elizabeth Tower in 2012 to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.
